The Face Behind the Art
Kelly's art forms include filmmaking and animation with intent for experimental, handcrafted animations, using her platform to address political concerns and stories of resistance to the former. She is primarily based out of Syracuse, New York and is an Associate Professor of Film at Syracuse University.
Kelly makes very vibrant and colorful films using paper-cut out animation, hand-drawn rotoscoping, oil paint animation, all while utilizing objects from the day to day environment.
Kelly has presented her art at various venues such as the National Gallery of Art, Museum of Modern Art,Tribeca Film Festival,Sundance Film Festivals,and the Smithsonian Institution.
