“I believe that film/video and animation hold an important space of potentiality for artists who want to create visualizations of resistance to racism, exploitation, capitalism, imperialism, patriarchy, and colonialism. Kelly believes that film and video animation gives creators a platform to express their thoughts, feelings, and stances through visual expressions. Her work features ongoing political issues and also deeply personal accounts; putting herself out there among the people, showing all of us that we can too!

Kelly's Thoughts

A big thing for Kelly when creating is using tools that are easily accessible like paper, scissors, glitter (lots of it), crayons, etc. By using these tools, Kelly wants to showcase that anyone has the power to create and express themselves.
